Land properties

A land property is composed of a demarcated parcel of land surface (CSS art. 667 et seq.).

Vertically (i.e. perpedicular to the ground in the direction of the sky and the center of the earth), the extent of the land property is depends on the owner's interests.

Horizontally, the land property extends to its boundaries. The land property is staked out using boundary stones, a wall or a fence. It appears on maps kept at the land register. In the event that the demarcation of the land does not agree with what is registered, the demarcation indicated on the maps is presumed exact.

Other structures, vegetation and natural resources belong to the land owner.
